A 4-month-old girl was found Monday morning after her father kidnapped her at gunpoint from the South Side Avalon Park neighborhood.

After the man was involved in a domestic dispute about 3:30 a.m., he kicked down a door to a home in the 1100 block of East 82nd Street, police said.

The man, who allegedly had a gun, then left the home with his 4-month-old daughter, police said.

The baby girl was found safe between 9 a.m. and 10 a.m., and was taken to Comer Children’s Hospital for observation, police said.

The father is in custody and is being questioned by police.

Area South detectives are investigating.
