Encased meat emergency: Hot Doug’s to close

“Honestly, there’s no hidden agenda, there’s nothing that will come out later,” owner and chef Doug Sohn told the Sun-Times during a brief break from serving a late-morning lunchtime crowd Tuesday. “It’s just time. It’s been unbelievably great, but I want to do something else. And I don’t know what that is.”

No celebratory blowouts are planned, he added. It will be “business as usual” until the end. [Voices]
