Man shot in South Chicago

A man was shot in the leg Thursday night in the South Chicago neighborhood.

The 20-year-old man was standing on the sidewalk in the 8200 block of South Coles Avenue about 7:20 p.m. when a vehicle drove up and someone inside fired at him, police said. The man told police that he then felt pain and realized he had been shot in the leg.

The man was listed in good condition, police said. Hospital information was not immediately available.

No one is in custody as Area South detectives investigate.
