(WHEATON) A Kankakee man has been charged with stealing more than $40,000 in computer and phone equipment from AT&T distribution centers in the western suburbs.

Darryl Montique, 23, was charged with two felony counts of burglary, according to a statement from the DuPage County Sheriff’s office. He was ordered held on an $8,000 bond.

Montique, of the 800 block of Evergreen Street in Kankakee, stole more than $40,000 worth of computer and phone equipment from AT&T distribution centers in unincorporated Naperville and Villa Park between April 30 and May 5, according to the statement.

Authorities recovered iPads, iPhones and Toughbook computers that were taken from the centers, according to the statement.
