A man was critically wounded in a drive-by shooting Thursday evening in the Dunning neighborhood on the Northwest Side.

The 22-year-old man was sitting in a vehicle about 7:30 p.m. in the 7500 block of West Barry Avenue, when a van drove alongside and someone inside fired shots, striking the man in the torso and neck, police News Affairs Officer Jose Estrada said. The vehicle then sped away.

The man was taken to Loyola University Medical Center in Maywood in critical condition, Estrada said.
