A man was killed and at least eight others were wounded in shootings across the city Thursday, according to Chicago Police.

The fatal shooting happened just before 9 p.m. in the Austin neighborhood on the West Side.

Three males were standing in front of a building in the 5700 block of West Augusta Boulevard at 8:56 p.m. when a tan Lincoln MKZ drove by and someone inside fired several shots, police said.

Damian Williams, 22, sufferd multiple gunshot wounds to the chest and was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, according to police and the Cook County Medical Examiner’s office.

Williams, of the 5900 block of West Augusta Boulevard, was pronounced dead at 9:43 p.m., the medical examiner’s office said.

Another man, 23, was shot the chest and groin and was also taken to Mount Sinai, where he was listed in critical condition, police said.

The third male was not injured.

The most recent non-fatal shooting happened about 7:30 p.m. in the Dunning neighborhood on the Northwest Side.

A 22-year-old man was sitting in a vehicle in the 7500 block of West Barry Avenue, when a van drove alongside and someone inside fired shots, striking the man in the torso and neck, police said. The vehicle then sped away.

The man was taken to Loyola University Medical Center in Maywood in critical condition, police said.

At 2:48 p.m., a 16-year-old boy was shot and seriously wounded in the Southwest Side Brighton Park neighborhood.

The boy was in the 2500 block of West 38th Street when someone shot him in the face, police said. He was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital. Police said the teen is a documented gang member.

About 1:45 p.m., a man was shot while cleaning his gutters in the Southwest Side Chicago Lawn neighborhood, a witness said.

The man, thought to be in his 60s, was shot in the back in the 2300 block of West 72nd Street and taken in serious condition to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, according to police.

About noon, an 18-year-old man was shot in the head in the South Side Roseland neighborhood, but still managed to walk two blocks to a cousin’s house, authorities said.

He suffered two gunshots wounds to the back of the head in the 9900 block of South King Drive, police said. He was taken in serious condition to Christ Hospital, police said.

Fifteen minutes earlier, a 20-year-old man was shot during a domestic argument in the 9400 block of South Ada Street in the Washington Heights neighborhood, police said.

He was shot in the left side of his torso and showed up at Little Company of Mary Hospital and Health Care Centers in Evergreen Park, where he was listed in serious condition, police said.

About 11:20 a.m., a man was found shot in the back in the 6800 block of South Paulina Street, in the West Englewood neighborhood on the South Side, police said. He was taken in serious condition to Christ Hospital, but was being “extremely uncooperative” with authorities, police said.

Thursday’s first shooting happened about 3:15 a.m., in the Northwest Side Irving Park neighborhood.

A male took himself to Swedish Covenant Hospital after he was shot in the hand and foot in the 4400 block of North Whipple Street, police said. He was listed in “stable” condition.

No one is in custody for any of the shootings as area detectives investigate.
