(LAKE FOREST) All Metra trains on the Milwaukee District / North Line were halted Thursday evening after a person was struck by a freight train in north suburban Lake Forest, according to Metra officials.

The person, whose age and gender were not immediately known, was struck by a Canadian Pacific freight train about 7:50 p.m. at the Lake Forest station, said Metra spokesman Michael Gillis.

All inbound and outbound trains on the Milwaukee District / North Line were stopped about 8 p.m., Gillis said. It was not immediately known how long the trains would be delayed.
