Man shot in face in Brainerd

A man was shot in the face Wednesday night in the Brainerd neighborhood on the South Side.

The 20-year-old man was in the backyard of a home at South Ada and West 92nd streets about 8:40 p.m. when a gunman opened fire, police News Affairs Officer Jose Estrada said.

The man was shot twice in the face and taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn in “stable” condition, Estrada said.
