A man was shot during an attempted robbery Thursday night in the Roseland neighborhood on the Far South Side.

The 32-year-old man was leaving a friend’s house in the 10800 block of South Eggleston Avenue about 9:40 p.m. when a male walked up and announced a robbery, police News Affairs Officer Jose Estrada said.

As the man was getting into his vehicle, the robber fired numerous shots, striking the victim twice, police said.

He was shot in the buttocks and arm, and taken in “stable” condition to Roseland Community Hospital, police said.

The man, 18, was sitting in a vehicle in the 1800 block of West 88th Street about 6:05 p.m. Sunday when he was hit in the leg by gunfire, police said. He died at a hospital.
