Executive-suite changes at Fellowes

James Fellowes retires Tuesday as chief executive of Itasca-based office products maker Fellowes Inc.

John Fellowes II, the fourth generation to lead the family business, will take on the role of chief executive.

James Fellowes also will become non-executive chairman of the company. He joined the company in 1969 and became president and CEO in 1983. He will remain the company’s largest shareholder.

“I have enjoyed 45 years of executive leadership, and I’m grateful for my 31 years as CEO. It feels very natural at this stage to redefine my role and responsibility. My father helped me greatly in my position and now I hope to support John in the same way,” James Fellowes said in a prepared statement.

John Fellowes joined the company in 2001 after working for a financial services firm in California.
