A man is in serious condition after being shot Thursday morning in the South Side Englewood neighborhood.

The shooting happened about 9:50 a.m. in the 7000 block of South Morgan Street, police News Affairs Officer Veejay Zala said.

A 34-year-old man was shot in the abdomen and hospitalized in serious condition, Zala said.

Further details about the circumstances of the shooting were not immediately available.
