(SAUK VILLAGE) A Hazel Crest man was killed and a woman was wounded in a shooting in south suburban Sauk Village early Saturday.

Police received a report of a woman shot in the 2100 block of 217th Street about 12:05 a.m., according to a statement from the Sauk Village Police Department.

When officers arrived, they found a 19-year-old woman shot in the face and a 25-year-old man shot in the head, police said.

John McIntyre, of the 3600 block of Peach Grove Lane in Hazel Crest, was pronounced dead at Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn at 11:30 a.m., the Cook County Medical Examiner’s office said.

An autopsy Sunday found McIntyre died of a gunshot wound to the head and his death was ruled a homicide, according to the medical examiner’s office.

The woman was in “stable” condition Saturday, although police could not say which hospital she was taken to.

Sauk Village police and the South Suburban Major Crimes Task Force are investigating the shooting.
