Wintrust Financial Corp. is scouting for banks to acquire in Northwest Indiana as more of its business customers expand or move to nearby states. If the Rosemont-based banking company can’t find banks to buy, it will consider opening branches there, CEO Edward J. Wehmer tells chicagobusiness.com. Wintrust already has a presence north of the border in Wisconsin and expects to complete a deal with Talmer Bancorp Inc. for 11 branch offices in the third quarter.
