A man was shot multiple times Wednesday afternoon in the West Side Austin neighborhood.

Th 41-year-old man was in an alley in the 500 block of North Pine Avenue at 2:20 p.m. when a gunman fired shots and ran away, police News Affairs Officer Thomas Sweeney said.

The man was shot in the chest, hand and left ankle and taken in “stable” condition to Mount Sinai Hospital, Sweeney said.
