(WAUKEGAN) A north suburban man who lived and worked at a day care facility has been charged with abusing a child there.

Mario Montes Deoca

Mario Montes Deoca, 60, of Waukegan faces one count of predatory criminal sexual assault, a Class X felony, according to Waukegan Police Sgt. Cory Kelly.

Deoca lived and worked at a day care facility in the 1000 block of Montesano Avenue, according to police.

He was arrested July 16 after a child “made an outcry” and was interviewed by authorities, police said.

Deoca was released after posting the required 10 percent of a $100,000 bond, police said.

Kelly said the case is “very much open and ongoing.”
