SHARE Police: Man pulled from Chicago River downtown dies

A man died after he was pulled from the Chicago River in the Loop late Friday morning, police said.

The man apparently went into the river from the bridge at State and Wacker about 10:50 a.m., police News Affairs Officer Jose Estrada said.

The 29-year-old was taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital, where he was pronounced dead, police said.

The Cook County Medical Examiner’s office could not immediately confirm the fatality.
