Man shot in Woodlawn

A man was shot early Sunday in the Woodlawn neighborhood on the South Side.

The 24-year-old man walked into University of Chicago Medical Center with a gunshot wound to the lower back about 1:30 a.m., police News Affairs Officer Hector Alfaro said.

The man told police he had been shot in the 6700 block of South Dorchester Avenue, but did not provide any further details, Alfaro said.

He was transferred to Mount Sinai Hospital for treatment.
