SHARE OSI hires KanPak to run Chinese fruit, vegetable plant

OSI Group Inc. has contracted with a subsidiary of Golden State Foods to manage a vegetable and fruit plant in China.

“OSI remains committed to China, our customers and our consumers,” Aurora-based OSI Group said in a statement Monday.

OSI Guangzhou, which the company bought in 2001 from Coronet Foods, will be operated under contract by KanPak China,a unit of Irvine, California-based Golden State Foods. Financial terms were not disclosed.

OSI Group’s meat plant Shanghai Husi Food Co. is accused of processing expired meat and chicken and distributing it to customers including McDonald’s, KFC and Pizza Hut in China.

Aman, 28, was walking to his car in the 300 block of North Avers Street when a gunman approached and demanded his belongings, according to police.
The incident occurred around 11 p.m. in the 1200 block of South Kildare Street, police said.
