A 21-year-old man died after he was shot multiple times in the chest and crashed his vehicle Wednesday morning in the South Side Burnside neighborhood.
Michael Wright was driving in the 9300 block of South Greenwood about 10:35 a.m. when someone in a gray car, possibly a Chevrolet, pulled alongside and opened fire, police said.
Wright was shot multiple times in the chest, then crashed his car about two blocks away in the 9100 block of South Greenwood, police said.
He was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, where he was later pronounced dead, the Cook County medical examiner’s office said. Autopsy results showed Wright died of multiple gunshot wounds and his death has been ruled a homicide, the medical examiner’s office said.
