A 64-year-old woman died Friday, six days after she was struck by a vehicle in the Back of the Yards neighborhood on the South Side.

Filomena Salmoran was crossing the street in the 4700 block of South Laflin about 5:45 p.m. Sunday when a pickup truck struck her, authorities said. The driver was turning onto 47th Street from Laflin.

Salmoran, of the 4200 block of South Loomis, was taken to Stroger Hospital where she was pronounced dead at 1:57 p.m. Friday, the Cook County medical examiner’s office said. She died of multiple injuries from the incident, and her death was ruled an accident, according to an autopsy performed Saturday.

The driver was not issued any citations, police said.
