2 shot in Belmont Cragin

Two men were shot Tuesday night in the Belmont Cragin neighborhood on the Northwest Side.

The men, ages 23 and 24, were both shot in the foot about 10 p.m. near West Fullerton and North Austin, police said.

The 24-year-old was standing on the street when two males walked up and opened fire, striking him in the left foot, police said.

He then walked to the corner, where several other males were standing, when a blue Jeep pulled up and someone inside fired shots, police said. A 23-year-old man was then shot in the right foot.

The 24-year-old refused medical attention, while the 23-year-old was taken to Loyola University Medical Center in Maywood, where his condition had stabilized, police said.

Police said both men are documented gang members.
