A man was found shot to death Friday evening in the Southwest Side Clearing neighborhood, in a residential area near Chicago Midway International Airport, police said.

The 24-year-old man was found with a fatal gunshot wound to the head about 5:10 p.m. in the 6200 block of South Kilpatrick, police said. The shooting happened about a half-mile from Midway Airport.

He was identified as Giovanni Galindo of the 10300 block of South Karlov in Oak Lawn, the Cook County Medical Examiner’s office said. He was dead at the scene.
