Two women were injured early Thursday when an SUV crashed into daycare center in the South Shore neighborhood.

About 12:25 a.m., a 19-year-old woman driving an SUV eastbound on 79th Street near Crandon Avenue swerved to avoid a crash with a westbound vehicle and struck a commercial building, police said.

Maps show that Colors For Tots Daycare Center is located at the corner of 79th and Crandon.

The driver, along with an 18-year-old woman sitting in the passenger seat, were both taken in good condition to South Shore Hospital, police said. No one else was injured.

The crash caused minor damage to the building, police said.
