An Elmwood Park man died Thursday, nearly five years after he was struck by a vehicle in the Portage Park neighborhood on Chicago’s Northwest Side.

Victor Garcia Jr., 56, was hit by a vehicle on Feb. 2, 2010, in the 3200 block of North Cicero, according to the Cook County medical examiner’s office.

Garcia, who lived in the 7700 block of West Grand Avenue in Elmwood Park, died last Friday, the medical examiner’s office said.

An autopsy Thursday found that he died of complications from multiple injuries from being struck by the vehicle, and his death was ruled an accident.
