A bicyclist is in serious condition after being struck by a van on Monday afternoon in west suburban Naperville.

About 4:45 p.m., the white 2009 Chevrolet Express was traveling west on Modaff Road when it struck the bicyclist, who had been riding north at the intersection of 75th Street, according to a statement from Naperville police.

The bicyclist was taken to Edward Hospital in Naperville in serious condition, said police, who did not release the ages or genders of the people involved in the crash.

Traffic was rerouted around the intersection until about 8:30 p.m., police said.
