Cook County sheriff’s officers serving an eviction notice at an apartment in north suburban Skokie discovered a body Tuesday morning.

The officers were enforcing a court-ordered eviction in the 4900 block of Crain in Skokie about 8 a.m. when they found the deceased man, according to sheriff’s spokeswoman Sophia Ansari.

The man is thought to be in his 40s, Skokie spokeswoman Ann Tennes said. There was no evidence of foul play.

Skokie police were notified and are investigating the death, Ansari said.

The Cook County medical examiner’s office could not immediately be reached to confirm the fatality.
