A man was hurt in a shooting and crash Friday evening in the South Side Englewood neighborhood.

The man, 28, was in a vehicle in the 7400 block of South Peoria about 7:30 p.m. when someone fired shots, police said.

He was shot in the shoulder, and the vehicle he was driving struck a pole, police said.

The man was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn in fair condition, police said.

A police source said the man is a documented gang member.
