A 29-year-old man died when he fell off his motorcycle early Saturday on the Kennedy Expressway on the North Side, police said.

He was driving in the southbound lanes of the Kennedy (I-90/94) near Grand Avenue at 1:10 a.m. when he lost control and fell off, according to Illinois State Police.

He was taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital, where he died at 1:50 a.m, according to the Cook County medical examiner’s office. His name was still being withheld Monday afternoon pending family notification.

No one else was hurt in the crash, state police said. Two lanes of the expressway remained closed for about four hours as crews cleared the scene.
