Two boys were hospitalized Sunday morning after they were hit by a car in the Humboldt Park neighborhood on the West Side.

The children, ages 6 and 7, were crossing the street near Division and Pulaski at 11 a.m. when they were struck, according to police and fire officials.

They were taken to Stroger Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, police said.

The man driving the car — whose exact age wasn’t known — stayed at the scene after the accident and was taken into custody for a traffic violation, police said. Information on the violation wasn’t known early Sunday afternoon.
