A 25-year-old woman found dead after a basement fire Saturday night in the Northwest Side Belmont Cragin neighborhood has been identified.

The blaze was reported in the basement of a one-story bungalow in the 6000 block of West Nelson about 10 p.m., according to Fire Media Affairs spokesman Will Knight.

Tatiana Yashina, who lived in the home, was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the Cook County medical examiner’s office.

An autopsy did not rule on the cause and manner of her death, pending further investigation.

Another person was taken in critical condition to Community First Medical Center, Knight said.

A Fire Department spokesman could not immediately provide additional details about the fire as of Thursday afternoon.
