Police are asking for the public’s help in finding a 28-year-old South Sider who hasn’t been seen since leaving Rush University Medical Center on Monday.

Jerry Lee Nicholas, who also goes by “Sherry Berry,” left the hospital May 4 and may still be in need of medical attention, according to an alert from Chicago Police.

Police described Nicholas as a 5-foot-4, 120-pound black man with a shaved head who may be wearing a wig. He has a scar on his head from brain surgery, and tattoos on his body of the names Deborah, Tina, Sherry and Mom, the alert said.

Representatives of two LBGT groups have told the Sun-Times that Nicholas is a transgender woman known to friends as Sherry Berry.

Nicholas is known to spend time in the 7900 block of South South Shore Drive, police said.

Anyone with information should call Area South detectives at (312) 747-8274.
