Man shot in Austin

A 25-year-old man was shot in the Austin neighborhood late Friday on the West Side.

He was standing on a sidewalk about 11 p.m. in the 600 block of North Menard when he heard shots and realized he’d been struck in the left ankle, according to Chicago Police.

The documented gang member took himself to West Suburban Medical Center in Oak Park, where he was listed in good condition, police said.
