A semi-truck carrying 8,500 gallons of fuel burst into flames early Sunday on Interstate 90, near Rosemont.

Crews responded to eastbound I-90 near Interstate 294 at 1:12 a.m. and found the truck rolled over, “engulfed” in flames, Illinois State Police said.

The driver was not injured, ISP said. Further details about what happened before the rollover were not known.

The fire had been extinguished by 3:30 a.m., but the two right lanes on eastbound I-90 near the scene were still closed, ISP said. All lanes had been closed until roughly 1:50 a.m.
