A driver suffered a medical emergency behind the wheel Thursday night and his car crashed into a home in north suburban Evanston.

About 9:25 p.m., the 31-year-old man was driving in the 2200 block of Emerson when the medical event happened, according to Evanston police. His car struck an unoccupied parked vehicle and then crashed into the house.

He was taken to NorthShore University HealthSystem in Evanston with non-life-threatening injuries, police said.

No one else was injured in the crash, police said.
