SHARE Woman struck by hit-and-run vehicle in Montgomery

Police are searching for the driver of a vehicle that sped away after striking a pedestrian Saturday night in west suburban Montgomery.

About 9:35 p.m., the vehicle struck a 56-year-old woman who was walking near Orchard Road and Route 30, according to a statement from Montgomery police.

The woman was taken to Rush-Copley Medical Center in Aurora with “very serious” injuries, police said.

The crash remains under investigation Monday afternoon as police search for the vehicle and driver. Anyone with information is asked to contact Detective Sgt. Jeff Ricedorf at (630) 897-8707, ext. 3300.
