'They've got black people lovin' hockey!' says excited 'Hawks fan

Wrigleyville was no place for shrinking violets Monday night as raucous Blackhawks fans celebrated the team’s third Stanley Cup triumph in six years.

NBC’s Phil Rogers maintained admirable composure as a crowd of rowdy bros mobbed him during a live shot. Not a hair out of place!

Later in the night, WGN scored this memorable interview with a passing ‘Hawks fan:

“They got black people lovin’ hockey!” the fan exclaims.

If so, that’s quite an achievement. Just 3% of the NHL’s regular season audience is black, according to 2012-13 data published in Atlantic.
