A 36-year-old man was shot and seriously injured Wednesday afternoon in the Humboldt Park neighborhood on the West Side.

He was in a car about 4 p.m. in the 700 block of North St. Louis when shots rang out and a bullet struck his chest, police said.

Relatives drove him to Stroger Hospital, where he was listed in serious condition, police said.
