Travesty as relatively cute mutt wins World's Ugliest Dog contest

A hideous mutt that looks like a barbecued rat has been cruelly robbed of the World’s Ugliest Dog title by an adorable hunchbacked rival.

In a travesty at the 27th annual World’s Ugliest Dog contest in Petaluma, California, on Friday, Sweepee Rambo, who looks like a four-legged scrotum, was bested by Quasi Modo, a 10-year old pit bull-Dutch shepherd mix.

Quasi Modo, of Florida, was born with spinal defects reminiscent of the Notre Dame bell ringer. She beat 25 other mutts to claim the top prize — $1,500 for her proud owner.

Sweepee Rambo, a 16-year-old Chinese crested and Chihuahua mix, took second-prize.
