Three Chicago Police officers and two other people were injured in a crash Monday night in the Little Village neighborhood on the Southwest Side.

A marked police SUV with its emergency equipment activated was northbound on Millard about 8:55 p.m. when it was hit by a Dodge headed eastbound on Cermak, police News Affairs Officer Hector Alfaro said. The Dodge failed to stop at a stop sign before the crash.

Three police officers were treated and released from a hospital after the crash, Alfaro said. The Dodge’s male driver and a female passenger were also taken to Mount Sinai Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Their ages were not immediately known.

The driver was cited for failure to yield to an emergency vehicle, Alfaro said.
