Former NBA player Jackson Vroman was found dead in a swimming pool Monday at his Los Angeles County home, according to several reports. He was 34.

Conflicting reports said Vroman died in a car accident, but that was clarified by his friend Dan Bilzerian.

One of my best friends passed away today, everyone who knew him loved him, Godspeed my brother… The police said they reviewed the surveillance video, he was sitting down, he got up to go inside the house, tripped on the stairs, hit his head and drown in the pool. It wasn’t a car accident.

Vroman was also close with Justin Bieber and Reggie Bush.

Vroman was drafted by the Bulls in 2004 out of Iowa State, but was traded along with a first-round selection (ended up to be Nate Robinson) to the Suns for the pick that brought Luol Deng to the Bulls in 2005.

The 6-10 power forward played two seasons in the NBA before heading to overseas to play.
