A man was shot and critically wounded early Thursday in the East Garfield Park neighborhood on the West Side.

The man, 24, got into an argument with two other men about 1:45 a.m. in the 3600 block of West 5th Avenue, when one of the men pulled out a gun and fired shots, police said. The two men then ran away.

The 24-year-old was shot in the chest and taken in critical condition to Mount Sinai Hospital, police said.
