SHARE Homes evacuated following gas main rupture in Aurora

Fifteen homes were evacuated following a gas main rupture Monday afternoon in west suburban Aurora.

Gas service was shut off to the homes about 2:45 p.m. following the gas main rupture at 13 N. State, Aurora City spokesman Dan Ferrelli said.

Several streets were closed as a result, Ferrelli said.

  • New York between Union and Root
  • Spencer from Spring to Gallena
  • Union is closed southbound from Spring to New York and Madison

Nicor is at the scene and further details were not available.

No one was hurt, Ferrelli said.
