MOKENA, Ill. (AP) — Initial autopsy results show a 3-year-old suburban Chicago girl drowned in an in-ground swimming pool while at a Fourth of July party with family.

The Will County coroner’s office said Monday that Lamees Mohammed drowned Saturday. She was found in a pool at a home in the southwestern Chicago suburb of Mokena. A final cause of death is pending toxicology results.

First responders did CPR on the girl before she was taken to a New Lenox hospital where she was pronounced dead at about 10:10 p.m. Saturday evening.

Mokena Police Chief Steve Vaccaro says police and the Illinois Department of Children and Family Services are investigating.
