Two people were injured in a three-vehicle crash early Wednesday on Interstate 290 in northwest suburban Itasca.

The three-vehicle crash occurred at 1:05 a.m. in the westbound lanes of I-290 near the Thorndale exit, according to Illinois State Police.

Two people were injured in the crash, although details about their ages, genders and conditions were not available Wednesday morning, police said.

A truck with heavy damage to its front end and a vehicle rolled over onto its side could be seen behind a semi at the scene of the crash.

All westbound lanes were temporarily closed after the crash, but have since been reopened, police said.
