200 still without power after Tuesday storms

About 200 ComEd customers remain without power after thunderstorms swept through the Chicago area Tuesday night.

These customers should have their power back between 7 and 8 p.m. Wednesday night, said ComEd spokesperson John Schoen. About 15,000 were without power at the peak of the storms.

A series of tornado, severe storm and flash flood warnings were issued for most of northern Illinois Tuesday night.

Between 1 and 3 inches of rain fell in an hour across parts of the Chicago area before the storms tapered off, according to the National Weather Service.

Downstate, a tornado touched down about six miles south and southwest of Pontiac in Livingston County about 5:10 p.m., according to the National Weather Service, citing information relayed by Illinois State Police.
