One person suffered minor injuries after workers using a cutting torch ignited a house fire Thursday in west suburban Naperville.
Firefighters responded at 12:17 p.m. to the 1000 block of North Charles Street and found a fire burning in the ceiling of the lower level, according to the Naperville Fire Department.
The fire was extinguished in about 15 minutes. One person was treated on the scene for minor injuries.
The home sustained moderate damage, and the city has deemed it uninhabitable, the fire department said.
Investigators determined that careless use of a torch by workers caused the fire, the statement said.
