A 78-year-old man was fatally struck by a vehicle Tuesday in the Lake View neighborhood on the North Side.

At 3:12 p.m., Chisun Lee was struck by a vehicle headed southbound in the 3200 block of North Halsted, according to Chicago Police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office.

Police said the man crossed the road in the middle of the street.

Lee, who lived on the same block as the incident, was taken to Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead at 9:46 p.m., the medical examiner’s office said.

An autopsy Thursday found Lee died of multiple injuries suffered when he was struck by the vehicle, the medical examiner’s office said. His death was ruled an accident.

The driver stayed at the scene of the crash, but as of Thursday afternoon no citations had been issued, police said.
