A single-vehicle crash left a 65-year-old man dead Friday near northwest suburban Marengo.

The crash happened in the 7000 block of Maple Street, when a southbound 2003 Dodge truck driven by Michael Meyerhoff left the road and rolled over, according to a statement from McHenry County sheriff’s office. Police said the truck left the roadway once to the east, came back on the road, then went off a second time and rolled over.

Meyerhoff was taken by ambulance to Centegra Hospital in Woodstock, then transported by helicopter to St. Anthony’s in Rockford, where he was later pronounced dead, according to the sheriff’s office.

Meyerhoff was wearing a seatbelt during the crash but no airbag deployment was reported. There was no one else in the truck.

The sheriff’s Traffic Crash Investigations Unit and Winnebago County’s coroner’s office are continuing to investigate.
