Police trying to identify injured man found two weeks ago in Edgewater

Chicago Police are asking for help in identifying a man found with serious injuries in the North Side Edgewater neighborhood more than two weeks ago who has remained unconscious ever since.

On Aug. 8, an unidentified person reported that the man was seen by witnesses “having trouble walking” in the vicinity of 1223 W. Granville Ave., an alert from police said.

He was “seen stumbling and then falling, striking his head on the pavement,” police said.

He is now unconscious with serious injuries at St. Francis Hospital in Evanston, and police are trying to identify him in order to notify his family.

He is described as a white male 50-60, 5-foot-10 and 170 pounds with blue eyes, brown/grey hair and alight complexion, with no visible marks or scars. When found, he was wearing grey sweat pants, shirt and grey gym shoes.
