Four children were rescued from Lake Michigan after a boat tipped over near Burnham Harbor on Friday afternoon.

The children, ranging in age from 12-16, were in a Boston Whaler boat that tipped over outside the harbor, Fire Media Affairs said about 2:30 p.m. All four were wearing life jackets and have been safely rescued.

Fire crews assisted Chicago Park District personnel with the rescue, officials said.
